Bettina has over 20 years’ experience working as a lender and financial advisor in acquisition, project and equity finance.
During an extensive banking career, Bettina has worked for a number of major financial institutions (including BHF-BANK, UBS, Moody’s and Crédit Agricole), both in Frankfurt and London, and has acquired strong project management and credit analysis skills combined with in-depth capital market expertise. She originated, structured and arranged complex acquisition financing transactions in a wide variety of industry sectors, including automotive, aviation, logistics, engineering, chemicals, media, retail and business services. At Charterhouse Bank she advised the UK government on the financial evaluation of private sector bids for infrastructure projects and was part of the team setting up one of the first European project equity funds.
She gained significant renewable energy expertise working for two years as Director of Project Finance and Fundraising for a developer of emission reduction projects in Southeast Asia.
Acting in an independent advisory capacity since 2010 her focus has been on renewable energy transactions and projects generating financial and social returns in both developed and developing countries.
In the renewable energy sector, Bettina’s main experience relates to working on financial advisory roles for project developers, investors and development institutions, in particular on solar, wind and geothermal projects. Bettina provided financial advice to asset managers and consultancy firms in the impact investing sector, and also to medium-sized companies in traditional sectors, ranging from engineering to consumer products.
Bettina has a degree in Business Administration from the European Business School in Oestrich-Winkel/Germany, and a foundation management degree from the EBS Executive Education GmbH. She is fluent in English, Spanish and French, along with her native German. She is a Member of the Advisory Board of PeoplesHome Associates, an impact investment development organization for renewable energy supply in developing countries.
